LignoSphere second in the Uusi puu 2026 public vote

Our epoxy adhesive and coating made with LignoSpheres came second in the Uusi puu 2026 public vote. The results were announced at Metsäpäivät, the national forestry event, on 22.10.2026 at Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport, where our CTO Kalle Lintinen received the recognition on behalf of the team.
Eight wood-based innovations took part in the vote this year, and the public cast 852 votes on social media during September. First place went to the Metsä FreshPack food packaging paper by Metsä Tissue’s Greaseproof Papers, and third place to Fiberwood’s wood-based acoustic panel. Congratulations to both, and thank you to everyone who voted for us.
LignoSpheres are colloidal lignin particles made from kraft lignin, a side stream of pulp production. In our epoxy formulations they replace bisphenol A (BPA), which cuts the fossil-based content of the formulation by 50 %.
Uusi puu is a project of the Finnish Forest Association (Suomen Metsäyhdistys) that showcases new wood-based products and research and what they could mean for society. Its main funder is the Finnish Forest Foundation (Suomen Metsäsäätiö).
